Sun Room with a central apex roof

Posted by Tom Jones-Marquez on 23 June 2014

We were pleased to work for former England rugby captain Lewis Moody and his family on an impressive bespoke conservatory. This large two sided joinery project was tricky due to its central apex roof design. We had to deal with a dodecahedron or two for this one.

The glass in this sun room was very high specification in order to work well as a room in the depths of an English winter. All joinery was made using solid and sustainably sourced sapele hardwood. We finished the work in white eggshell microporous paint. We laid an engineered oak floor on the inside which is lovely and warm underfoot.

The end result is a room which fills the rest of the house with light – joining the kitchen to the living room. It also provides a fantastic dining and entertaining area; as well as opening up onto the patio.

Lots of careful thought went into the design and fabrication and the end result shows, we hope you agree.
