Scaffolding finds a new lease of life.

Posted by Bath Bespoke on 22 April 2016

As busy as we are here at Bath Bespoke from time to time we find ourselves crafting a job that really catches everyone in the workshops attention, and this job was one of those. It began when we heard that a local scaffolding firm had a selection of aged boards boards ideal for repurposing, gnarly old and full of character, over the next few weeks they would be chopped, sawn, joined, stained and lacquered by furniture maker Sam Drake and our talented finishing team who took great pride in the finished piece, a sweeping L shaped double level desk backed by a compartmentalised shelving unit. Individual blocks of the shelving were closed off in an engaging “random” selection with grey gloss spray finished panel doors.

Under the desk we fitted an integrated filing cabinet also made from the same supply of scaffolding, to allow for ease of customisation this was installed with caster wheels, all of the metal work on the filling cabinet was bespoke made galvanised steel hand finished to ensure it fitted in with the rustic look of the unit.

We hope you enjoy looking at it as much as we do!
