Bespoke from beginning to end

Posted by Bath Bespoke on 25 February 2019

We take great pride in every project we work on and from start to finish our entire team works closely in partnership with you. The bespoke nature of our business translates into every element – product and service – which is something our clients really value.

Be it the restoration of tired sash windows, laying an intricate parquet floor, coming up with bespoke storage solutions for a bedroom, playroom, living room or, well, any room in the house; renovating a kitchen to optimise the space, creating a beautiful boot room, constructing a timber-framed building or crafting cabinets to fit a tricky alcove, our dedication to considered design and high-quality craftsmanship know no bounds.

With this in mind, we thought we would offer up an insight into how we work with you to bring really special concepts to life…

Design | tell us what you need

It can start on the back of an envelope, in Pinterest, because it’s finally time to re-do the kitchen or sort out those leaky sash windows or because that grand design project you’ve taken on is a tad more ambitious than you thought  – there isn’t much we haven’t worked on over the last ten years – and your first port of call will be one of our designers. Meet Tom and Nikki.

They’re here to spend time with you to understand exactly what it is you need and want, and turn it into a considered, intelligent design solution. Taking the time to understand the nuances of the project and your expectations and needs is core to our approach. Our designers can guide you as much or as little as you need – you like a Shaker kitchen but you live in a Georgian property? We’ll explain why we think classic styling will probably work best, but if you still want Shaker, Shaker it is.

Where do we begin?

Get in touch! It starts with a good old-fashioned chat (over the phone, via email, or call into the studio for a coffee) to understand your what you’re looking for, your ideas and the scope of the project. From this we can provide a guide price and, providing we’re in the right ballpark, next, we’ll come to you. We’ll visit you to develop design ideas, take measurements and share our own thoughts on the project to make sure we’re getting the best from all elements.

After this, we develop three dimensional, CAD drawings to put the design into context. We then work with you to refine the design and make informed choices on materials, fittings, finishes, ironmongery and all the practicalities. Crucially, we can fill you in on the implications of the various options available so you can make informed choices at every stage, which means you shouldn’t need to compromise on finishes or details further down the line.

Next, we’ll invite you into the studio and workshop to finalise these designs and make sure your design works for you, covering off the real nitty-gritty – What will you keep where? How many drawers do you need? Will you be able to reach those top cabinets? Every design we draw up is customised to each individual client, bespoke in every aspect, to make sure it integrates seamlessly into your space, enhancing daily life without bringing any accompanying annoyances…

“We were introduced to Bath Bespoke by Peter Higgins at Eton’s of Bath. We have a beautiful kitchen and flooring and the attention to detail is second to none, we are delighted with the finished product…What matters most is that throughout, all of the staff are a joy to deal with, the products used are of amazing quality and the end product is stunning.”

Production | made by hand

Once you’re happy, we’re happy. And we get together technical drawings for our workshop team to pick up the mantle and take your project into production. Overseen by James, Tom and Brett, our brilliant workshop team’s dedication to making sure every element of the design and production is executed to the highest standards borders on the fanatical – be it materials, manufacture, finishing or installation – our commitment to each and every project is undisputable.

One cabinet maker is allocated per job so you can be sure one person has dedicated consistent time, care and attention to your project and the dialogue between the designers and production team carries through until the last detail, refining and smoothing any rough edges remaining with a fresh pair of eyes. Our non-compromising approach to quality and integrity in design truly comes into its own here, we are only happy with a project once we are confident it has met our exacting standards and will fully answer (and preferably exceed) your expectations.

“Bath Bespoke has proven to be a wonderful discovery for our renovation, from windows and kitchen to floors and cabinetry. A truly personal service with an imaginative design team and craftsmen with an unmatched eye to detail. A joy to work with from start to exceptional finished product”

Fitting & installation | finishing in person

The final furlong. Dan will lead the team on the onsite installation, where your project is delivered in its components parts and carefully installed. Working closely with design and production teams to understand the intricacies of your space and existing details, he will ensure your design is brought to life with skill, care and an attention to detail that knows no bounds.

We valued Bath Bespoke’s personalised approach, all the way through from design and sales to installation and beyond. For us it was more than just running off few trims and making few sets of doors and windows, Bath Bespoke offered full assistance in almost every aspect of the project going as far as tremendous help with complex tax refunds.

Their genuine interest in their customers and their projects sets them apart – creating something detailed, complex and good quality isn’t an easy process, but every member of the team is absolutely committed to the achieving the best for the project, with patience and an unaffected, positive outlook from beginning to end.
