Contemporary Class.

Posted by Bath Bespoke on 31 May 2016

We would like to share another of our more recent projects with you that’s balancing on the cutting edge of modern furniture design, you might just spot it next time your shopping in our capital as it is being used as a product display piece in the esteemed Oxford street branch of London’s Selfridges.

Contracted by the innovative design collection The Makers we have created a contemporary table with contrasting bench seating using a host of modern techniques which leave a clean crisp and sleek finish. The table is based around a central layer of 38mm moisture resistant furniture MDF (medium density fibber) which is then lipped by grain matched strips of solid european oak, the top and underside are then clad and sealed with a 1.5mm layer of Formicca a composite material constructed in New Zealand, this futuristic cladding resembles a surface you would expect to find on a spaceship.. durable and smooth with a high gloss finish. The edges are routed flush and miter cut to 45° allowing for a biscuit join with the legs which is crisp and seamless.

The bench seating is created in an identical manor but finished with subtle shades that contrast beautifully with the tables decorative eye catching blue.
