Sash windows in a modern apartment in Bath

While some of the team were busy fitting the bedroom dressers and walk in dressing room in Bradford on Avon this week, our specialist joinery team were busy fitting the new sash windows we had crafted for an apartment in Bath. We’ve been restoring and crafting heritage sash windows in Bath and Bristol for a long time and often work on properties like those in The Circus and the Royal Crescent.

This project had a slightly different feel to it as the interior was ultra modern with leather chairs, a vibrant timber floor and clean white walls. As always, we crafted the sash windows in the traditional way, with full mortise and tenon joints, but opted for a more modern style including in the choice of ironmongery.  But note the classic style plaster work above the bay window. It’s great to see the preservation of such work, and I think the windows really works well with this detailing. Blending the old with the new!

The sashes were crafted from Accoya wood and finished and spray painted in house. Take a look at some of the pictures our installation team took of the finished results:
