Oak flooring fitted in modern family cottage

A few months ago the team were asked to help renovate a small cottage. The young family were looking to modernise their home in order to sell it and opted for a minimalist but high quality finish.
We fitted oak engineered boards throughout, protecting and colouring it with our oil finish in Cornsilk. Unlike other products, this patented oil coating bonds with particles in the wood to offer unprecedented protection, durability and colour finish. It’s the first and only oil in the world that doesn’t contain VOCs or water, and is completely environmentally friendly.
We worked with designer Mia Marquez on the whole renovation, with a particular focus on the kitchen. She opted for a really modern and slick design, that opened up the small space. We installed easy clean surfaces in contemporary white materials and added plenty of storage. We crafted the cabinets from birch ply, painting them in house in a pure white finish. We then finished the cabinets with Corian worktops and also crafted the “hidden” door at the back which led out to a conservatory. All appliances are integrated which makes the look more uniform and pure.
