17th Century Home with 21st Century Cabinetry

We were pleased to work closely alongside renowned interior designer Rebecca Roberts on this handsome residence on the outskirts of Bath.

Rebecca approached us to help her to explore and develop her great ideas for transforming the property’s bedrooms, dressing room, library, boot room and study, as well as fitting resplendent oak flooring.

Throughout our conversations, the aim was clear: to remain very much in line with the character of the 17th Century home, but with subtle 21st century cabinetry details woven in throughout. Just the kind of thing we love to do.

Our clients were a young family, returning from living overseas and looking to make this country residence near Bath their family home.

Our design team took Rebecca’s ideas as the creative starting point. Using our expertise and love and desire for craftsmanship, we developed these into a series working drawings to visually demonstrate our ambitions for the home. In addition, we provided a rich selection of samples and advised on material and finish options, ensuring that the home’s transformation was very much a collaborative effort.

With our production drawings all approved, it was then over to our team of highly accomplished cabinetmakers – Tom, Ben, James and Sam – to manufacture, to Brett and Lukasz to polish, and finally to Dan, Kai and Jim to install. A true team effort.

For such a major renovation, it was essential to ensure that all of our installs dovetailed with the schedule of works set by the main contractor; our open communication and rich experience maintained consistent progress throughout.
The end result achieved was simply stunning – with the homeowners immediately ordering more furniture from us upon completion of the first installation! We were only too happy to continue working on this fantastic family home.
