Storage that works for you

A wardrobe should be easy to live with once the doors are closed as well as beautiful from the outside. We begin by understanding what you need to store, then plan the balance of hanging space, shelves and drawers around it. Shoes, accessories and smaller items can be given their own place, while lighting and mirrors can be incorporated where they make the space more useful.

There is no standard internal layout. A compact wardrobe may need to make careful use of every centimetre; a larger dressing room may allow more space to move, get ready and see everything at a glance.

Designed for the room

Bedrooms rarely offer a perfectly blank canvas. Sloping ceilings, uneven walls, chimney breasts and existing architectural details all influence the design. Bespoke furniture lets us work with those features, whether the aim is to make storage feel discreet or create a more expressive part of the room.

In a centuries-old cottage near Bath, we designed a run of wardrobes and drawers beneath sloping eaves, responding to the room’s irregular walls and floors. At A House Above the Valley, a dressing room pairs high-gloss painted cabinetry with oak detailing, bringing a more contemporary character to a historic home.

The approach can look different again in a modern interior. In a Stoke Newington townhouse, full-height wardrobe doors and concealed ironmongery keep the bedrooms calm and minimal, with carefully planned storage inside.

Wardrobes are often one element of a bedroom renovation or a larger programme of work throughout a home. We regularly collaborate with private clients, architects and interior designers, developing the furniture alongside the room’s lighting, finishes and other joinery.
